The best love stories
Have no exclamations
No shout - outs.
They have quiet little
Hyphens, linking two
Souls in infinity.
No question marks
or what ifs.
No apostrophes
Or possessives.
Just acceptance
And thriving in-
Adversity and hence,
The best love stories
Have no full stops.

The silent sounds of midnight
brought you to me
I stayed wrapped in hope
your lips, your warmth
your nonexistence.

Mercilessly impatient
are these silent grains
of Hope-
Grating away
on my sanity,
longing
that someday
you will happen to me.
Again.
Like dark poetry.

You are reason and passion’s love child.
You are everything that is right about-
Everything that is wrong about me.
You are death’s soft kiss on my clavicle,
You are life’s reply to my inner tempest.
Your marrow warms my lonely bones,
Your blood cools my uncontrollable fear.
I fear the madness you invoke in me-
The bloody desire your hands provoke.

I should retreat into my own silences,
But like the irresistible sinful rustle of silk-
Your silences beckon me, giving me voice.

Wednesday, 21 December 2011

Even as the earliest birds
welcome the break of dawn
with their strangely plaintive songs,
your absence keeps me awake.
You are my dishonest truth
and my virtuous vice.
You are me.

Love lies limp and lifeless-
Like a lonesome, lowly, little
Ragdoll.
